The Brain of Flex Busterman

I am very happy to finally present you the follow up / sequel album of my 90s video game soundtrack album “The Horrible Plans of Flex Busterman”. Again, it is produced on the old Amiga Homecomputer, but with a newer tracker music program called “AHX Tracker” which doesn’t work with samples, but only chiptune style self created sounds, which gives the whole thing a pretty different flavor. The Brain of Flex Busterman turned out more fierce, more psychedelic and much more wild than its predecessor. Since years, I always come back to some Amiga and Tracker work and surprisingly there is still new hardware, software and methods to surprise yourself with the oldschool 8Bit sound. I hope you enjoy the wild Journey through The Brain of Flex Busterman!

Patric Catani playing Alien Hominid Invasion OST HD

This is a re-upload in HD of my concert for The Behemoth / Pax Online 2020 featuring my first beta batch of the Alien Hominid Invasion Soundtrack. Here is what The Behemoth and Pax Online wrote about it:

This is the HD encore video of the PAX Online + EGX Digital live musical performance of the Alien Hominid Invasion OST with Berlin based artist, Patric Catani. Catani has been collaborating with The Behemoth for the last 10 years and has contributed tracks to BattleBlock Theater, Pit People, and of course, Alien Hominid Invasion. Much like the Behemoth, Catani puts a new spin on old magic, blending classic chip sounds with modern instruments. In the Alien Hominid Invasion OST you will find original SID (C64) and Sega Chip sounds in an organic mix with analog synths, acid basslines and even guitars. All of these elements come together to create a unique tonality and greater connection to an alien organism and their universe. Tip: Turn the lights down and the volume up for a maximum dance floor simulation experience!

Don’t forget to put the game on your Steam Wishlist – HERE –

You also can find the Soundtrack (work in Progress) on:

– Tidal –

– Spotify –

Late Summer Bounce Playlist

Hey everybody, thought to recap my last productions, since the flow of different projects got maybe a little bit confusing. It’s the last days of warm weather over here and I put this playlist together with a few bouncy and trippy tracks that slipped a bit under the radar. Especially the instrumental versions of the ILL TILL / Parentill Advisory album for my english speaking fans, but also some game music remixes which could be great for forest walks and searching mushrooms or to enjoy the last sunny Negronis on your terrace.. Hope you enjoy this late summer bounce playlist and we get through these weird times in a cheerful mood.

See you soon, in good old fatness!

Alien Hominid Invasion OST Live at Pax Online

The San Diego based video game developers The Behemoth asked me to perform my latest video game soundtrack for “Alien Hominid Invasion” (work in progress) on Pax Online via live stream. This performance was shown via Twitch and Youtube and got re-streamed on the official Pax Online channel. I had tons of fun putting all this new material together into a set and it was my first concert in this difficult year of the rat. During my preparations, I made friends with the Otamatone and even got myself a mini Theremin for the right sci-fi touch. Thanks to everyone again who joined the livestream and thanks for all the nice reactions. It was delighting and flattering to receive such a positive feedback! Looking forward to present you more of the soundtrack, when the game is officially released. You can actually still try out the free beta demo of Alien Hominid Invasion on Steam! Hope you enjoy the game, the music and this little concert of mine! Check below!

Pit People & BattleBlock Theater – Mega Mashup

A turbulent mashup mix of my video game soundtrack work for Pit People and BattleBlock Theater, featuring a few new and unreleased tracks as well. For the live performance at PAX East Boston, it was needed to give all the different moods and worlds, featured in the game a concert / party touch. While doing that, things got pretty complex and lots of previously unthinkable, astonishing combinations happened. It took me a while to finally record this first Mashup Mix and even trying to consider all material I made for the games, it was quite impossible to have all tracks included. Still, I hope you appreciate the party flow and let me know if you want to hear more of these things in the future.

In any case, I would be happy to play you another game music concert like the one at Pax East / Boston and it still makes me happy to think back to the dedicated fans, doing crazy dance contest moves to my show!

See you guys and thanks for all the support!

Pit People Remix Party – Album Release 2019

My Patric Catani for Pit People Soundtrack contribution for The Behemoth surely was the most extensive and complete video game collaboration I did so far. For almost a year, I played around and gathered musical influences that would underline their countless crazy characters fighting in a world that struggles with time and space confusion, caused by the green blood rain of a giant teddy bear.

Needless to mention that the given scenario offered me a huge playground, experimenting freely with combining all possible and impossible genre crossovers. It happened that banjos meet kossack choirs and italo disco grooves fusioned with baroque english horns, western elements mashing up with electronic monster funk and rockabilly pirate chants collide with trap music beats, fairy voices and scatting swing choirs sing along with hardcore techno hoovers.

Hundreds of thousands of plays and excited comments from Pit People fans around the globe showed that I was on the right track to underline the spirit of the game.

When I had an opportunity to play my game soundtracks at PaxEast Boston in 2018 and several other game music related occasions, the question for me was if I shall “only” play the original songs, or if it might make sense to stir things up once more to make the concert material more stringent and have danceable versions that could rock bigger dancefloors. I decided for option 2 and it was a truly exciting journey to explore the reign of madness again, mashing up the Pit People and BattleBlock Theater material into one big concert.

Whilst on this release you obviously find the results of all the Pit People rework, I will also put out my BattleBlock Theater remix release and a live recording of the whole concert in the near future.

Thank you all very much for your support!

Special Thanks to Maximum Guitar (Youtube.com/user/maximumguitar) for his great collaboration cover version of Goblinbling!! Make sure you check his Youtube channel!

Performance at Museo del Synth Marchigiano | Macerata

I play a performance at the Vintage Synthesizer museum in Macerata / Italy on the 25th of october 2018. I will bring my own Siel Synthesizer, but will have access to some of the legendary vintage string machines and synthesizers that were produced in the area of Macerata and Civitanova. The festival happens from Oct 19th until Nov. 4th and looks packed with super interesting shows.

check the link – here –
