Pit People OST Music | The Behemoth

The video game Pit People for Xbox and Steam got released on 13th of January by The Behemoth as Early Access version. The full version will follow soon.

Pit People is an action loaded and fast round based strategy game in the spirit of Behemoths previous games, such as Castle Crashers and BattleBlock Theater, which gives it a very outrageous, humorous and  crude feel. For all game enthusiasts out there, I totally recommend it!

I also will release my music contribution to the game on my Bandcamp and other online shops, after The Behemoth released the complete version.

Theater Basel “Retten Was Zu Retten Ist”

I´m doing music for a new theater play at Theater Basel directed by Felicitas Brucker.
The Play “Retten Was Zu Retten Ist” will have the premiere on Nov. 4th 2016.

“The concept is old fashioned but still very effective: the perfect family, which then gets caught up in its own idea of perfection – while only wanting one thing: a more beautiful life. Behind the scenes there are real people who have forgotten how to live because advertising has completely taken over their entire lives. These are amateur protagonists trapped in a world which they cannot see through. They feel uneasy playing their roles, which are never identical to themselves. They subject themselves to constant scrutiny and product testing. They are advertisements for a society with no basis. Everything here is provisional and still under construction, remorselessly influenced by anticipation and reaction.” Philippe Heule

Philippe Heule takes a look behind the scenes at the advertisers’ average family, cast according to the laws of the market, familiar from tv ads and all manner of print advertising. It offers us an entire palette of Western products to buy, ultimately including itself – the utopia of a perfect world in miniature, in the kitchen, at the dining table, in the living room, in the bedroom. It is a backward-looking petty bourgeois utopia: Biedermann at the Baumarkt, an idyllic do-it-yourself life.

The young Swiss author Philippe Heule studied directing at the ZHdK and spent the 2015/16 season as writer in residence at Theater Basel as part of the playwriting development programme Stück Labor. This model provides young playwrights with the opportunity to develop their dramatic writing in artistic dialogue with a theatre and its ensemble. Heule is a founder member of the theatre company helium x and has already directed his own texts. ‘Save What Can Be Saved’ is his second play.

It is directed by Felicitas Brucker, whose production of Darja Stocker’s ‘Nowhere in Peace. Antigone.’ was seen at Theater Basel in 2015/2016 and was invited to the Autorentheatertagen 2016 at the Deutsches Theater Berlin.

Antigone – Theater Basel

I know I´m late, but I wish everybody a good 2016, I was a bit distracted after finishing my theater music for Antigone in Basel and didn´t post anything on my website until now. Since there´s still time to catch the play, here is a bit of information about it.

– Go to Theater Basel Website for the program –

Oedipus’s sons Polynices and Eteocles are dead. The twin brothers have killed each other in a dispute over the throne. While Eteocles is celebrated and buried according to the religious customs, the new King of Thebes forbids the burial of the apparent traitor Polynices. Anyone failing to obey King Creon’s order shows contempt for the laws of the state and must pay for his crime with his life. Antigone, sister of the dead, can and will not accept the will of the Gods being defied by this decreed omission of the burial ritual. She scatters earth over her brother’s dead body, thereby risking her own death.

The Swiss playwright Darja Stocker transfers the ancient tragedy by the Greek poet Sophocles’ from 442 B.C. to a contemporary context. Using her own research into the most recent resistance movements in Arab countries as well as in Europe she investigates the Antigone myth afresh: who is mourned publicly and collectively in Western societies and who is not valued in this way? Why are some victims of violence almost voyeuristically slaughtered in the media while we are barely made aware of other deaths? Does some sort of community feeling determine who will be mourned collectively? Who are “we” – and can the experience of loss and the anger at a lack of recognition be one feeling which links people across borders, from which a new, different and boundary-breaking “we” could possibly emerge?

As the long-time director in residence for the Schauspielhaus Vienna, Felicitas Brucker was responsible for numerous successful world premieres. Following her successful production of «The Oresteia» and an adaptation of the Oedipus myth she now continues her examination of ancient material in Basel.

Berliner Herbstsalon at Gorki Theater Berlin

From Nov. 13th until Nov. 22nd at the 2nd Berliner Herbstsalon / Gorki Theater Berlin, you can hear Catani music and sounds in the performance “Tohubassbuuh” by the artist duo Bankleer. They built a big Megaphone that will play the music and texts read by Mehmet Ateşçi and Mareike Beykirch.

“In the exhibition and during a performative walking tour of the city with their Tohubassbuuh, an oversized mobile megaphone, bankleer bring sounds and texts about fleeing and its reasons to collide with the present. In this way, the artists create new relationships between public space, political-economic (dis)orders and the people who act within it.”

Minton – Video Game Soundtrack

The music of the video game “Minton” (IOS, Android, Kindle Fire and Facebook) finally got released via Storage Records in all Download Shops and Bandcamp. The addictive “one button” video game by the company Gamefabrik that already got stunning reviews on some leading app websites and which is spreading in China right at this moment, simply deserved some effort on the sound level. Here he comes with a slightly goofy approach, making his way through caves and dungeons, over the graveyard and even through the jungle. Also included in this release are some future levels like the mentally disordered party tune “Revenge of the Psychossack”, the Alice Cooper influenced Hairy Metal tune “Bat A$$” and two special bonus outtakes of the Graveyard Theme. Enjoy!
