For the 10 years anniversary of the german band “Die Türen” , Tape.TV and Musikexpress spent quite some effort to celebrate them with a big bang. Die Türen gathered their favourite bands and musicians t cover their last album and it turned out to be a firework featuring: Stereo Total, Bonaparte, Locas In Love, Andreas Dorau, The European Rich Kids, Viktor Marek & Ashraf Sharif Khan, Zwanie Jonson & The Class, Die Heiterkeit, Frank Spilker Gruppe and us..

While I skip place between Berlin and Bucharest and also did a few travels to Bulgaria I found a lot of new nice Balkan dance music and mixes.
This mix contains a lot of music I found during my journey and I mixed it with other favourites and a bit of unreleased Patric Catani sounds.
Since a lot of titles are in cyrillic please just enjoy the mix, it´s not possible to write everything down for me.. I´m still learning this alphabet.
I hope you like the explosive balkan sound.

Related to my Gp2x Handheld Album “Pad Sounds” I also did this cover version of Popcorn which I somehow forgot to put on my Soundcloud.. Well.. It popped back into my mind just now and I hope you enjoy this free download. Since Popcorn from Geshorn Kingsley is one of the most covered popsongs ever I simply had to make it on my Gp2x Piggy Tracker as well. Maybe you heard that one also on one of my concerts. I made a little cover version in bass of Ennio Morricone´s “La Piovra” Theme.  First just thought to use it in my DJ sets but it turned out so intense and special that I decided to make it available for DJs and fans worldwide. Also it introduces the new direction I´ll go with my next album. Let´s call it “heavy psychedelic acid crunk bass”. Stay tuned for my new stuff after the summer! – Hope you enjoy it!

I´m spending a fair amount of time in the Freiburg “Stadttheater” at the moment to work on Christoph Frick´s version of
“Michel Houellebecq  – the Elementary Particles”. I compose the music for it and will join the theatreplay with concert parts, presenting a mix of misanthropop, electro, chanson and physical-physic pornpunk.

The actors Marie Bonnet, Michael Schmitter, Holger Kunkel, Charlotte Mueller, Johanna Eiworth and Hendrik Heutmann will be part of the music too.  The premiere will be in October and shows will be played until 29th of december 2012. There also will be a Candie Hank concert at the  little venu called Finkenschlag (Haslach) on the 24th of November 2012.

Patric Catani is known for many productions for artists and bands like Puppetmastaz, Dhirty6Cru, Max Turner, Angie Reed, EC8OR, Driver & Driver, Peaches, Chilly Gonzales on various labels such as DHR, Beat Ink, Grand Royal, Mille Plateaux, Wordsound, nevermind the countless remixes for musicians from all over the world. With Beatmachine, Catani opens up his insanely filled treasure box of beat and instrumental work produced throughout the years from 1998 to 2010.

His very early releases in the harsher field of Breakbeat, Hardcore and Gabba already came with a lot of Hip Hop and Rap influences. Well, no wonder since his music education kind of started with the first wave of sample oriented bands like i.e. Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, Bomb the Bass and KLF. Even though his EC8OR and solo LPs released on Digital Hardcore Recordings and Mille Plateaux were infused with downtempo and hip hop inspired tracks, the true ignition for rap and beatwork kicked off with the Comic Rap project “Steve Hive” ft. Paul PM that came out on Black Hoodz / Wordsound, in 1999.

While his beats continued to tour with bands like Puppetmastaz in the whole world, Catani intensified his collaborations with other musicians and MC´s. Obviously some projects more serious and fruitful than others, but generally a welcome change, and the cornerstone for a new music direction. Think Catani. Think a playful watchmaker who’s never tired to reinvent himself and scar out his very own timeless, unique Bass + Beat styles between space-dub, grime, soundtrack and RnB. And here we go, think Beatmachine, a long-play collection featuring most of his unreleased, but not necessarily unheard material. Enjoy the ride!

Special occasion at Blip Australia 2012 in Melbourne to play an Amiga + Gp2x concert. The hot weather must have influenced the Soundchip and funny things happened during the concert. A very nice event, thanks to everybody who came and the Blip organisation! The new Flex Busterman tracks also will be released in October by the japanese label Murderchannel.
