Patric Catani is known for many productions for artists and bands like Puppetmastaz, Dhirty6Cru, Max Turner, Angie Reed, EC8OR, Driver & Driver, Peaches, Chilly Gonzales on various labels such as DHR, Beat Ink, Grand Royal, Mille Plateaux, Wordsound, nevermind the countless remixes for musicians from all over the world. With Beatmachine, Catani opens up his insanely filled treasure box of beat and instrumental work produced throughout the years from 1998 to 2010.
His very early releases in the harsher field of Breakbeat, Hardcore and Gabba already came with a lot of Hip Hop and Rap influences. Well, no wonder since his music education kind of started with the first wave of sample oriented bands like i.e. Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, Bomb the Bass and KLF. Even though his EC8OR and solo LPs released on Digital Hardcore Recordings and Mille Plateaux were infused with downtempo and hip hop inspired tracks, the true ignition for rap and beatwork kicked off with the Comic Rap project “Steve Hive” ft. Paul PM that came out on Black Hoodz / Wordsound, in 1999.
While his beats continued to tour with bands like Puppetmastaz in the whole world, Catani intensified his collaborations with other musicians and MC´s. Obviously some projects more serious and fruitful than others, but generally a welcome change, and the cornerstone for a new music direction. Think Catani. Think a playful watchmaker who’s never tired to reinvent himself and scar out his very own timeless, unique Bass + Beat styles between space-dub, grime, soundtrack and RnB. And here we go, think Beatmachine, a long-play collection featuring most of his unreleased, but not necessarily unheard material. Enjoy the ride!

Since a long time now, I´m writing and producing Rap and HipHop Beats for the different Bands Puppetmastaz (http://puppetmastaz.com), Xberg Dhirty6 Cru (http://dhirty6.de), my solo stuff and other people. In the last time I had a closer listen again, seriously going thru piles of old backup Cds, DATs and an truly uncontrollable ammount of Beat & Bass work.. It´s quite impossible to nail down everything in a mix that I did during the last 12 years, but I thought this picks are shaping sort of the peak, at least in my crunked opinion .. I´m planning to do a release with my new stuff in 2012 but for now I hope you enjoy this compilation mix of my instrumental work from more of a decade.

Patric Catani – Supervision – Soundtrack by Catani
Soundtrack of the story “Kongress der Supervisionäre” by Matthias Whittekindt and Christoph Kalkowski. This is a selection of songs in a mix but the full version got released by Storage Records via Itunes.
Kongress der Supervisionäre is a dark, sarcastic and political science “fiction” story about an international food company that produces artificial genetic food plants that fight other plants and even humans at some point. That´s why tomatoes are quite some topic in the lyrics and the titles. Two underground activists try to stop the dirty business and got to deal with a lot of weird events. -
Enjoy!

a song by Yuko Matsuyama and me from our Global Gaijin project got released by Whatpeopleplay Records on the Japan charity compilation called Japanese 3. All money goes to the Red Cross and the artists gave the material out for free.
In my opinion it´s one of the best songs we did together so far. We will make some more music from time to time and have a nice soundtrack album at some point.. No rush on that side. Enjoy the song!
